Is crypto halal or haram in Islam?
Crypto is not one single ruling in Islam. A cryptocurrency may be permissible when it represents a lawful digital asset or utility, is bought and sold without interest, leverage, deception, or gambling-like speculation, and is not tied to a prohibited business. It becomes impermissible when the token is a scam, has no meaningful lawful use, depends on riba-based lending or staking, is traded with margin or futures, or is used mainly for maysir-style speculation.
